The Best Classic British TV Series
73This is now my 29th Hub of my 30 day challenge , it is currently 50 minutes from that deadline and an idea has just jumped into my head. A little background, I have been stressing all day to get this done in time, not this hub in particular but the challenge as a whole. I am writing this now at 2311hrs on the 30th day, mainly because I feel that I started something so I should finish it.
I have decided to write a Hub about the best british TV shows, wellat least the ones that I enjoy watching time and time again. The list is in no particular order, and yes I know this hub will need some work afterwards, but I like to stick to deadlines and not let people down.
Below are the British TV shows that I enjoy watching most, even now but lets face it classic British comedy will ever be past its sell by date, one final note before we get to the actual list I have had a few beers tonight watching the game (Man City v Aston Villa) so if there are any spelling mistakes then please let me know.
Only Fools And Horses
The best British sitcom of all time in my opinion, yes at times we may become sick of it but it is a show you can always come back to time and time again. Del Boy (David Jason) and Rodders (Nicholas Lyndhurst) were always on a money making mission with Del's trusty suitcase by their side full of hooky gear. The trotters are always of the opinion, well Del is that "next time next year we will be millionaires". The show ran from 1981 to 2003 a magnificent achievement if you ask me. The Trotters became millionaires and many people believe that it should have been left there. Not for me. Only Fools And Horses was equally as funny after they were millionaires lost everything and thought of new madcap ways to re coup the money. This show is repeated to this day in England dating back to the very first episode, and I love it.
Fawlty Towers
Another great British sitcom starring John Cleese. Fawlty Towers was the ultimate in comedy. It was based on one man and his hotel. Basil Fawlty who could seem to get nothing right, add in the confusion of his wife Basil, there waitress Penny and butler Manuel are all the names you need to create the classic British sitcom. John Cleese is of curse a movie star to this day, but Fawlty Towers is still shown in England and who knows where else to this day. John Cleese also wrote the show and their were only ever twelve episodes made, which for me adds to the reason that this show was so funny and timeless.
Men Behaving Badly
The classic lads sitcom from the 90's. Men Behaving Badly was timed to immense perfection for releasing on the British public. The show follows Gary (Martin Clunes) and Tony (Neil Morrisley) who at first are single free and wild, living in a London flat doing what they please. As the series evolved girlfriends where introduced but the same madcap things would happen time and time again, usually involving Tony or Gary n a drunken stupor. Once again the show is repeated to this day, and yes I still watch it again and again. Both the actors have moved on now and are very famous in their own right with big TV shows to their names but Men Behaving Badly was the launching pad to super stardom.

Fawlty Towers!!! The Best! Good choice!
3 great choices. It's a shame that the quality has gone from British Comedy. Not so many around now

Fawlty Towers is so great! You gave me a great, new gift idea for my husband, he loves Monty Python and the FT shows! Good luck with the challenge, go, go, you got this far!
